Establish a master's class to cultivate foreign language professional-level research talents
The Department of Modern Languages (DML) was inaugurated in August 2000, with one class of a two-year day school program. In 2003, the two-year program was terminated and replaced by a four-year program. In 2011, the graduate school was established to cultivate professionals of foreign languages and their research talents.
In line with the government’s policy for globalization, the DML aims to train professionals versed in foreign languages with competent scientific and technological skills and knowledge. To support the government’s “go south” policy, an emphasis is placed on education in Southeast Asian languages as well as balanced training of students in both science & technology and humanities. To promote lifelong learning, the DML offers admission to both in-service workers and vocational school graduates.
